19 May 2009 marks the 7th anniversary of the founding of the Astrophysics Research Centre and Ulupınar Observatory at ÇOMÜ. In celebration of this landmark in astronomical studies at our university, a program of events have been arranged which are open to both students and the public. These include observations of the sun, a panel on "The Future of Astronomy in Turkey", telescopic observations and a plate of rice and ayran. The program commences at 16.00 when a bus will take participants from Anafartalar Campus and finishes at 22.00 with a return to the campus.
