ABOUT ÇANAKKALE ONSEKİZ MART
UNIVERSITY
Since its establishment in 1992, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart
University has quickly developed into a dynamic, forward-looking, and
modern university. In terms of its buildings and facilities, academic
programmes, social activities, cooperative projects, international
relations, and teacher and student exchanges abroad, the university aims
to be on a par with international standards.
Over 25,000 students are currently enrolled at the university in 9
faculties, 5 schools, 11 vocational colleges, 2 graduate institutes, and a
conservatoire. Master and doctorate programmes are offered by the Institute of Natural &
Applied Sciences and the Institute of Social Sciences. Undergraduate
programs are taught at the faculties of Education, Medicine, Economics &
Administrative Sciences, Engineering & Architecture, Fine Arts, Fisheries,
Arts & Science, Agriculture, and Theology; also at the Schools of Tourism
& Hotel Management, Health Sciences, Physical Education & Sport, Applied
Sciences, and Foreign Languages. A variety of two-year associate degree
programs are taught at vocational colleges in such fields as accountancy,
health, carpet-making, marketing, ceramics, food technology, dairy
products, and furniture-making.
As part of the current and long-term strategy of the university, special
importance is given to:

The vision of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University is to
be a "world university" that contributes to the international academic
community by means of sustainable interaction. It has enjoyed considerable
success with the organization of national and international conferences,
symposiums, workshops, and congresses in all fields of interest to the
academic environment.
The university has also successfully implemented the European Credit
Transfer System, been awarded the Diploma Supplement Label by the European
Commission, and is a member of both the International Association of
Universities (IAU) and European University Association (EUA).
