ACCOMMODATION

COMU is a non residental university and  does not have accomodation for students on campus. Student Affairs Office will advice you on accomodation options and how to go about making contact.

State-Run Dormitories:

There are 2014 places available for students in state-run dormitories situated near Terzioglu Campus. Students stay in shared 4-8 person rooms at a cost of about 20 Euro a month. It is far cheaper than the other options and there is a great demand for places.  It is very difficult get a place and have lots of formalities to fulfill.

Private Student Hostels:

Private student hostels, under the supervision of Ministry of Education, are a popular second option . They are comfortable and most amenities are provided: central heating, 24 hour hot water, breakfast, dinner, cafeteria, study room, TV Lounge and transfort to campus. There are more than 20 such hostels in Canakkale, some-female only, others male only. Rooms in private hostels can be for 1,2,3,4, persons, The cost per student  is between 160-250 euro a month.

Rented Flats

These offer more freedom but they are not easy to find and students often, though not always, need to buy their own furniture. They are  found via estate agents, word-of-mouth or simply looking around for houses with "KİRALIK" posted in the window. Flats are not cheap and affordable only when several students sharing. Rents are about 100-200 Euro per month according to the district, age of flat.  The central heating is usually calculated in addition to the rent. Having the electricity and water connected involves paying a refundable deposit, an additional cost.

Host Families
