EUROPEAN RESEARCHER'S
MOBILITY PORTAL
ERA-MORE
European Researcher's Mobility Portal is a joint initiative of the European
Commission and the 34countries participating in the European Union's Seventh
Framework Programme for Research.
The Portal is a one-stop shop for researchers seeking to advance their
careers and personal development by moving to other countries. In addition to
the information on training and jobs it provides, this electronic gateway is the
entry point to a wealth of practical information on living, working and relaxing
in the European countries involved, through the widening network of the
national mobility portals complementing it (currently 31).
Three main types of information are available:
-
Fellowships/Grants
-
Research Job Vacancies
-
Practical Information
Search can be performed according to country, organisation, and research
field.
Marie Curie funding
and
job opportunities are announced on this Portal too.
This Portal allows mobile researchers to post their CVs free of charge.
In addition to that, it is also a stress-free recruitment tool for academic
institutions, private research organisations and public research bodies, both within and outside Europe. On it, indeed, they can view the CVs of top-notch
researchers and
publish their vacancies, all free of charge.
An increasing number of third-countries are also coming on-line, with
Australia the latest to launch its own national mobility portal. More portals
for non-European partner countries are in the pipeline.
The Portal also provides links to local
ERA-MORE mobility centres, which assist researchers on a one-to-one basis
before, during and after a training period abroad.
The electronic newsletter
"Europe4Researchers" is also available on the Portal and keeps researchers,
research institutions, universities and industry informed of the latest
developments.
The current access to the different information providers is being
permanently expanded and updated by the Members of the Steering Group Mobility
in the 34 participating countries, by the European Commission - Directorate
General for Research, and by other stakeholders within the research community
and based on quality guidelines and principles defined in the commitment for
Quality
Assurance
The project is managed by:
- The European Commission
- Directorate-General for Research
- Directorate C "European Research Area: knowledge economy"
