| to mythology , when the children of
King Athamas , Phryxus |
| and Hell , were sent away by their
stepmother , they were mounted on a |
| a flying ram with their mother Nephele
, the Goddess of the Cloud. |
| Whilst flying over the straits ,
Princess Helle fell off the ram into the |
| water ... giving the foundation for
the name Hellespont. (Phryxus flew to |
| Colchis , where he sacrified the ram
to Zeus and hung its golden fleece |
| on a tree to be guarded by fierce
dragon. |
